Hello, my name is Lydia. Iām a Freelance Video Producer and Filmmaker.
I specialise in digital content which focuses on topics at the nexus of: food, farming, nature, health and community. I strive to create science-led, solutions-oriented work which uplifts real human voices for social and environmental impact.
Previously, I worked at Electric Light Studios, producing music promos for recording artists such as Kylie Minogue, Robert Plant, Coldplay, Florence + the Machine, Blur, Rudimental and Take That. I produced content for radio, broadcast and online and loved working with so many talented crews at live events and on studio sets.
After a few years I transitioned to focus on environmental content at the UN Environment WCMC and completed my masters, visiting Kenya and Vietnam to study tea and coffee agriculture.
Most recently, I worked as Senior Producer at the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra). I led a team of Producers to create fast-paced social media content for Defra, Natural England and the Environment Agency. I worked for the Cabinet Office at COP26 and COP27 and filmed abroad with the Secretary of State in the Ecuadorian Amazon, the Galapagos, Egypt, the Netherlands and across the UK to create content which was shared by the PM and gained over 1.5M views.
I love working in this industry and believe visual storytelling is a powerful tool for inspiring change, communicating science and building stronger connections.
I hold a BSc in Chemistry (Leeds) and an MSc in Environmental Technology - Environmental Resource Management (Imperial College).
